Alfajor Biscuits

Alfajores are popular biscuits that are filled with 'Dulce de Leche' or 'Manjar Blanco', and are eaten across all of Latin America. In this video, you will learn how to make Peruvian-style Alfajores, made from cornstarch.


There are different types of Alfajores so I've decided to do a video showing you how to make three very popular (and delicious!) Alfajores, including traditional, chocolate and coconut Alfajores, as well as how to make a homemade 'Manjar Blanco' filling.


Ingredients:


Traditional Alfajor Dough:

  • 210 gr of cornstarch

  • 210 gr of plain flour

  • 250 gr of margarine or butter

  • 65 gr of icing sugar

Chocolate Alfajor Dough:

  • 170 of cornstarch

  • 60 gr of cocoa powder

  • 190 gr of plain flour

  • 250 gr of margarine or butter

  • 65 gr of icing sugar

Coconut Alfajor Dough:

  • 210 gr of cornstarch

  • 210 gr of plain flour

  • 250 gr of margarine or butter

  • 65 gr of icing sugar

  • 100 gr of desiccated coconut
